Road Projects
This project included demolition, sub-grade, fill and compaction, curb and gutter, valley gutter, spillways, cattle-guards, fencing asphalt, fog seal, and striping in a residential area of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The location dictated that all roadways remain open during the course of construction. This required close coordination with the community, the local school, and individual residents, as well as a detailed and well executed traffic control plan. This approach allowed all residents and the school full access during the entire construction process. This job was completed on schedule, under budget, and with no punch-list items outstanding.
This project included culverts, asphalt patching, rubberized chip sealing, fog seal, and striping on 8.1 miles of roadway on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. There were some problems with the rubberized chip seal on this project identified in our quality control testing. Close work with the subcontractor resulted in his return to the project and the replacement of approximately 4 miles of chip seal to meet the project specifications. Ultimately, the project was completed to the specified requirements and under budget.
Construction of 1.43 km of drain, drainage, PCC curb, gutter and sidewalk, placement of aggregate base course, hot asphaltic concrete pavement, and miscellaneous construction in accordance with the contract terms and conditions, specifications, and design drawings.
