FAIR Consolidated #27

Location: McNary, Arizona
Job Summary:
This project included demolition, sub-grade, fill and compaction,
curb and gutter, valley gutter, spillways, cattleguards,
fencing, asphalt, fog seal, and striping in a residential
area of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. The location
dictated that all roadways remain open during the
course of construction. This required close coordination
with the community, the local school, and individual residents,
as well as a detailed and well executed traffic control
plan. This approach allowed all residents and the school
full access during the entire construction process. This job
was completed on schedule, under budget, and with no
punch-list items outstanding. |

BIA FAIR Chip Seal #1 - Whiteriver, AZ
Owner: BIA - Western Regional Division
Contract: $ 646,219.00
Location: McNary, Arizona
Job Summary:
This project included culverts, asphalt patching, rubberized
chip sealing, fog seal, and striping on 8.1 miles of roadway
on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. There were some
problems with the rubberized chip seal on this project identified
in our quality control testing. Close work with the
subcontractor resulted in his return to the project and the
replacement of approximately 4 miles of chip seal to meet
the project specifications. Ultimately, the project was completed
to the specified requirements and under budget. |

Owner: BIA - Western Regional Division
Contract: $ 1,687,615.00
Location: San Carlos, Arizona
Job Summary:
BIA project that included crack sealing, rubberizing chip
sealing, asphalt overlay, fog seal, and striping on approximately
8 miles of highway on the San Carlos Indian Reservation.
Specifications include "tight" tolerances for the
chip seal and asphalt. This required very close coordination
with our QC agent as well as the subcontractors and
suppliers involved in procuring these materials. This coordination
ensured that all material supplied met the required
specifications and was applied in the proper manner.
These actions ultimately resulted in the project qualifying
for an 18,000.00 smoothness bonus. |

FAIR Chip Seal #2
Owner:BIA - Western Regional Division
Contract: $ 581,835.00
Location: McNary, Arizona
Job Summary:
Project involved sealing, rubberized chip sealing, fog seal,
and striping on 9.2 miles of roadway on the Fort Apache
Indian Reservation. Project was remotely located
(approximately 100 miles) from the major material suppliers
and included areas prone to flooding across roadways
during rains. Special attention was provided to the roadway
preparation (cleaning), material delivery, and testing
on this project to ensure the best possible final product.
These actions allowed the project to be completed on time
and under the original budget.

Location: Sells, Arizona
Job Summary:
This road construction project consists of grading, draining,
placing aggregate base course, hot asphalt concrete
pavement and pavement marking on 587 miles of roadway
on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation. |
