Whiteriver Construction was established in 1994 for the purpose of fulfilling a need for a quality licensed and bonded general contractor on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation. In addition, founder Corydon M. Cooley, with 35 years business experience, felt it important to assist White Mountain Apache Tribal members and subcontractors with employment opportunities thereby encouraging and supporting the economic development of the region. The company began as a small local contractor and has expanded throughout Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

Based on a solid reputation for detail, consistency, quality workmanship, and on-time performance, Whiteriver Construction grew to become the 129 largest contractor in the Southwest according to a 2005 McGraw Hill survey with an aggregate bonding capacity of almost $20 Million.
